Project for Participating in Monitoring the 2024 Kurdistan Parliament Election (Sixth Session)

In alignment with the organization’s plan and objectives to focus on voter education and election monitoring in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, the STEP Organization for Democracy and Elections, through the management of the Chav Network for Democracy and Human Rights Monitoring

has undertaken the mission of monitoring the 2024 Kurdistan Parliament elections. As one of the leading and founding organizations of this network, and relying on voluntary efforts with self-financing by the organization, the project aims to contribute to the oversight of the electoral process for the 2024 Kurdistan Parliament elections.

Given that the Chav Network is part of the National Monitoring Networks Alliance in Iraq, it participated in overseeing the voter registration update phase, the simulation process in Duhok Governorate, and the long-term observation of the 2024 Kurdistan Parliament elections. The network also participated in meetings, conferences, and events organized by the network’s alliance in Erbil. Additionally, it contributed to monitoring the general and special voting processes in Duhok Governorate.

The project included training all network observers in Duhok and providing training for coordinators of monitoring networks within the National Monitoring Networks Alliance in Duhok. It also involved submitting reports for both the special and general voting days for the sixth session of the Kurdistan Parliament elections to the National Monitoring Networks Alliance.

The project implementation spanned nine months, starting from March 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024.
