Voter Education Project for the Kurdistan Parliament Elections 2024
As part of its mission to strengthen partnerships and foster collaboration with research centers, institutes, and universities across the Kurdistan Region, particularly in Duhok, STEP Organization for Democracy and Elections launched a dedicated project aimed at contributing to voter education for the 6th term elections of the Kurdistan Parliament. This project was jointly funded by the organization and the collaborating centers and universities. Under the project's framework, several workshops and seminars were organized to educate voters on topics such as the electoral law, the electoral system, the division of electoral districts, the quota system for components, polling day procedures, complaints and appeals, result announcements, and the evaluation of the electoral process, among other related topics.
The project, which had a nine-month implementation period from March 1, 2024, to November 30, 2024, was carried out in Duhok and Erbil Governorates in cooperation with the following universities and cultural centers:

Project Objectives:
Building partnerships and collaboration with universities and cultural centers in areas of mutual interest.
Raising awareness and educating stakeholders in the electoral process.
Promoting electoral and democratic awareness.
The target groups for participants in these activities and events included a diverse range of individuals, particularly university professors, academics, representatives of political parties, civil society organizations, university students, veteran Peshmerga members, and intellectuals.
